I am a woman with dark brunette hair. After several years of using honey in DIY masks, I discovered it lightens hair. This should be noted in cautions. It can also strip chemically dyed hair albeit slowly.

In reply to Denise. For some it can dry out the hair shaft, but not all. It's why we mix it with olive oil, which is super moisturizing.

What other essential oils can be used in combination?
I used two small eggs. I think one large egg might be sufficient for medium length hair.
The mixture can be used as a facial mask, too, while you’re at it, and rinsed off after 10 minutes or so.

Hi, I dyed my hair a light colour and now it’s really damaged and in need of moisture, but I heard that coconut oil darkens hair that is dyed blonde. Is that true? And if so, could you maybe let me know what mask to use?

That is wonderful. I have used the avocado mixture before but sometimes without the egg or the honey or the essential oils. I will forever use this mixture. My daughter religiously uses the mixture and she swear by it weekly. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
