Dr Axe – I posted a question earlier, but don’t see it here now. Yikes. Anyway, I have a bacterial skin infection. Do you think it would be okay to use this solution topically? My dermatologist has prescribed antibiotics, but I don’t really want to take them. Thanks!
This specific recipe is for household cleaner but a manuka honey and tea tree oil may be a good option
I have an acute case of bacterial skin infection. Could I use this topically rather than instead of ingesting antibiotics?
It depends on if its superficial or internal. If its internal oil of oregano with echinacea could be beneficial or if it’s external, applying manuka honey with tea tree oil could be a good option. I would always consult with your physician
What brand of essential oils do you suggest? I am new to all this.
Email me at [email protected] and I’ll get you that info
From limited research, it appears ok to use lemon juice strained from lemons in place of lemon essential oil for cleaning products. Do you agree with this?
Lemon essential oil is highly concentrated and would be a better option. It is also derived from the peel and not the juice so it has different properties.
Would you use this mixture for mopping laminate floors? If not, do you have a recipe for that?
I think it could work on laminate floors. Try it on a small sample and see how it goes and let me know!
but the inside tube spray is plastic, wouldn’t it be harmed as well?
You can buy a separate glass tube if you are worried about it.
could not find where to purchase glass bottles. Also enjoy Dr.Axe.

Love finding things to make the world a better place to be.
Me too, dont want to be breathing in these harmful chemicals
I Make something very similar, but mine also has eucalyptus oil. I use it to clean and disinfect everything in my house…glass, granite counters, bathroom, kitchen, stove, microwave…leaves a fantastic fresh smell instead of a harsh chemical smell. Plus it costs pennies to make
Where does one find a glass bottle witha sprayer attachment for storage?
If you click on the glass bottle in the ingredients list, it will take you to the place where I got mine.
What brand of essential oils do you recommend? Have you heard of Youth Living! It is sooo expensive…. $30-$60 for .17 ounce. There must be a better alternative.
Please email me at [email protected] and I can get you that information
Lemon essential oil not lemon juice I am guessing… Glad that you are telling us to use a glass bottle – I am learning lots about essential oils and I know from first hand experience that lemon essential oil is really good at breaking down plastic!
Exactly!
